Samford University's campus in Homewood, Alabama is known for its beauty and Georgian-Colonial architecture with more than 60 buildings on a 250-acre campus. BHATE has provided Geotechnical and CMT services on this campus since the early 1980’s. The campus does present some interesting construction conditions due to the subsurface geology and site topography. One of the largest current BHATE projects on the campus is the $65 million Campus Recreation, Wellness and Athletic Complex. We also provided geotechnical services for what is now the Health Sciences Building Complex which was previously the Southern Living Headquarters. Our work on the campus has included over 25 buildings constructed since the 1980’s and academic, recreational, athletic and student housing buildings. We have been a long-term trusted partner and a financial supporter to Samford University.
