20 Midtown

This is a prominent $240M project with 985,000 SF largest mixed-use development that connects UAB and the City Center with ground-floor retailers such as Publix and several others. It includes parking, 436 apartments, and amenities. BHATE provided all geotechnical, environmental (ADEM VCP program approval) and CMT/SI services. The buildings are supported on a combination of drilled piers and driven steel piles due to highly variable subsurface conditions. Depth to bedrock at this site ranged from less than 15’ to over 125’ over short distances.
