Birmingham Intermodal Facility

This facility consists of a new 52,232 sf Amtrak/Greyhound terminal and a 39,630 sf bus transfer center providing connectivity with the local bus system located between Morris Avenue and the Railroad Reservation Park in downtown Birmingham. BHATE initially provided a Phase II Environmental Assessment for this site due to subsurface contamination from the prior railway operations. The site presented some unique foundation construction challenges that required practical and cost-effective designs. We provided all geotechnical design and CMT services for this project.
