Rickwood Field

Rickwood Field is the oldest baseball park in the United States that opened in 1910 and is home to the Birmingham Barons and Birmingham Black Barons. Renovations were made in 2017 and 2023; this was a two-phased approach. The collapsed grandstand floor slab and overall structural condition were assessed by our team in 2017. In 2023, the grandstand roof, pedestrian walkways, and wood louvers were then assessed. Bhate developed a plan with the contractor to repair the identified deteriorated structural components. Rickwood Field recently hosted the 2024 MLB Tribute Game.
