Director of Operations - Geotechnical

Mr. Tate S. Thomas serves as the Director of Operations for Geotechnical Engineering at BHATE, bringing a strong foundation in civil engineering and business management to the role. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and an MBA from the University of Alabama, where he was awarded a National Merit Scholarship and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2016.

With extensive project experience across the Southeast and surrounding states, Tate has made significant contributions to projects such as the Coca-Cola Bottling Company’s new corporate headquarters, Samford University’s residence halls and stadium upgrades, the Southern Research Institute’s Biotech Research Facility, and the Powell Avenue Steam Plant Renovations. His expertise spans virtually every construction sector.

Tate is also dedicated to professional development and actively participates in planning committees for both the Alabama ASCE and ACEC, staying engaged with the latest industry trends and best practices.
