Amazon Distribution Center

This building includes an 855,000 SF footprint with four interior mezzanine levels. This site presented unique challenges for development due to its topography and geology. Site grading included nearly 70’ cuts with up to 40 of fills within the building footprint. The natural soils were highly plastic and required modification for on-site use. To manage the site issues in a cost effective and practical manner, the project developer, Atlanta-based Seefried Industrial Properties retained services of BHATE to guide the project design and the contractor, Gray Construction, to work through the various site development issues. Unique geotechnical solutions were successfully implemented to control differential settlements of the building due to the extensive cuts and fills.
