Kevin Smith, P.G.

Director of Operations- Subsurface Exploration

Mr. Kevin Smith joined BHATE’s Geotechnical Division in 2001 and was named Geotechnical Subsurface Exploration Manager in 2019, where he oversees our drilling teams. His responsibilities encompass coordinating drilling and field services, conducting geotechnical investigations, preparing geotechnical reports, and managing projects. Kevin has contributed to numerous projects involving the installation of complex foundation systems, karst remediation, and addressing groundwater and slope stability challenges. He also brings extensive experience in ground improvement, foundation installation, and the installation and monitoring of specialty instrumentation.

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Alabama. He is a Licensed Professional Geologist (P.G.) and an Alabama Department of Environmental Management Qualified Credentialed Inspector.
