Construction materials testing is crucial in civil construction as it ensures the quality, safety, and integrity of built structures by verifying that the materials used meet the required design specifications and good construction practices. Building codes and standards such as IBC, ASTM, ACI, AISC, and other national agencies mandate specific material testing and inspection procedures and protocols to ensure good quality construction for designed function and public safety.
For CMT and SI services, while proper and accurate testing is essential, the ability to solve field problems in a timely and cost-effective manner is our key differentiator. Our senior field staff has been with BHATE for 20+ years and bring a wealth of construction problem solving knowledge. Our personnel maintain current certifications from ACI, ICC, AWS, PCI, DOT, and other state and national standards agencies.
BHATE’s Construction Materials Testing division provides services throughout the Southeastern U.S. Utilizing multiple established offices in conjunction with our ability to strategically locate field offices/laboratories on any major construction project in the urban or rural region, we can provide a wide service footprint.
BHATE field and laboratory equipment is well maintained and routinely calibrated to meet the strictest standards. Our services are conducted under the direction of licensed Professional Engineers. Our laboratories and personnel undergo a rigorous evaluation process to maintain required accreditation through AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) and the Concrete and Cement Reference Laboratory (CCRL) in addition to being approved laboratories with the US Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, and numerous state DOTs (ALDOT and MDOT).
