Construction Materials Testing Program Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities 

The following are required, but not limited to, for the position: 

  • Assisting engineering staff and department managers in conducting day-to-day operations supporting field operations and project management 
  • Assisting in scheduling, logistics, and travel arrangements for field staff  
  • Collecting reports, timesheets, and project related data from field staff
  • Processing and distribution of field reports and project correspondence   
  • Responsible for inventory, care and maintenance of vehicle fleet, field equipment and office supplies
  • Physical activities including walking through uneven difficult terrain, long spans of standing, and ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Occasional (10%) overnight travel should be anticipated 

  

Educational Requirements and Skills 

A successful candidate with a two-year or four-year college degree in business will be shown preference.  Equivalent work history will be considered.   

Potential associates with prior experience in office management or office administration including billing will be prioritized.   

Work experience in civil engineering or construction projects is a plus.   

Candidates with strong communication skills (written and oral) and organizational skills are preferred.   

Ideal applicants will have proficiency in report writing, organization, and utilization of technology.
