Senior Principal & Vice President
Mr. Chuck Burgin is a licensed engineer and geologist with over 40 years of experience in geotechnical consulting at BHATE. He oversees the technical and administrative functions of the Geotechnical Division, managing a team of geotechnical project managers, project engineers, geologists, and support staff. Throughout his career, Chuck has been involved in over 2,500 projects across the Southeast United States, with expertise in geologic mapping, slope stability analyses, subsurface evaluations, foundation design, and forensic investigations of distressed structures. He has a particular focus on evaluating karst conditions, sinkhole development, and mitigation strategies.
Chuck earned his Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of South Carolina and completed graduate studies in Geology and Civil Engineering at the University of Florida.
