Video of Ground Penetrating Radar

BHATE was hired by a civil engineer in Alabama that was trying to design new overhead canopies around existing fuel facilities. They had completed a topographic survey of the existing conditions at the site, but this did not yield any information about subsurface utilities. They had no idea what type, how many or how deep existing utilities were.

The risk was that if they designed the new structure and there was an unknown utility it would cause delays, damage and unexpected costs during construction.

BHATE provided Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology to ensure that they were designing the new structures with existing utilities in mind.

Below is a high-speed timelapsed video of BHATE’s GPR technician surveying the property for underground utilities.
